student designing sneakers on a tablet

Enrollment is open to students in grades 9-12.

Transform your passion for sneakers into real design skills in this exciting one-week intensive that explores the rapidly expanding world of footwear design. You'll learn the complete sneaker design process—from research and ideation through concept development, sketching, rendering, and prototyping. Discover how sneakers have evolved from purely functional athletic gear into cultural commodities that bridge sportswear, street style, and fashion. Through hands-on projects, you'll explore basic foot anatomy and function, upper pattern making, construction techniques, innovative materials, and modern manufacturing processes including 3D printing.

Design your own original sneakers for running, cross-training, outdoor adventures, or action sports while learning the vocabulary, design principles, and technical skills professionals use in this specialized industry. You'll also gain insight into the many career opportunities available throughout the sneaker supply chain—from design and prototyping to branding, marketing, and retail.
