Course Description

Enrollment is open to students in grades 9-12. 

Explore the world of digital photography! You will practice using tools and techniques for creating images and you will learn how to apply principles of art and design to express your unique vision. Whether you feel like your photos are amateur level snapshots or making images is your passion, when you finish this week-long intensive experience, you will be able to use your camera in more thoughtful and advanced ways. You will also learn new techniques for image making that create the story or emotional response you desire and you will learn from your peers by sharing and talking about each other’s work. The days are organized to keep your interest levels high and give you many opportunities to create, apply new techniques, and work on projects. The final day of this workshop will include an exhibition opportunity to show your work to family and friends.

 

Learner Outcomes

  • Students will gain confidence creating digital images 

  • Students will be introduced different visual storytelling techniques and will practice applying them to their own work  

  • Students will practice talking about their work, their process, and their artistic intent 

  • Students will have the opportunity to show their work in a final exhibition.
